The IAAF president, Primo Nebiolo, has said he hopes to add meets in England and possibly the United States in the future.The decision to stage each of the meetings on Wednesdays is the newest innovation and a spokesman said: "This was not so easy Some meets prefer to be on Friday or Saturday. The IAAF yesterday announced its schedule of 42 outdoor meets for 1999, including the World Championships in Seville, Spain, from 20-29 August. The showcase Golden League, which was introduced last season, will hold meets in the same six European cities - with the possible addition of Paris. The series opens in Oslo on 30 June, followed by Rome ( 7 July), Monte Carlo (4 August), Zurich (11 August), Brussels (1 September) and Berlin (8 September). The Grand Prix meet in Paris on 21 July could also be added to the Golden League in the next few days.The venue for the IAAF Grand Prix final on 11 September still has not been selected, although Cologne is considered the favourite. I have suggested a sensible and appropriate fee and they have said they will get back to me.".

EACH OF the International Amateur Athletic Federation's elite Golden League track and field meetings next year will be held on Wednesday nights, to make the competition easier to package for television. The centre Richard Tombs assumes leadership.Pontypridd have put their interest in the Bedford flanker Jason Forster on hold. They flew out to Treviso yesterday with a club spokesman, Cenydd Thomas, saying: "We will continue talks next week."Geoff Cooke, the former England coach and now director of rugby at Bedford, said last night: "The ball is now in the Pontypridd court. "Money is a major problem for me," explains the 19-year-old geography student "My dad's disabled and my mum is unemployed. "I overload myself quite a lot and sometimes I wish I could have a break, but I like knowing there is always something to do."She lives on the top floor with Rachel, her flat-mate from last year, and knew Tash before she moved in The boys are more of an unknown quantity. "I like to come home because it's a nice atmosphere," she explains "But it's not hygienic," she says. He has hope, though, and thinks that living with girls will make him less of an old prankster and more of a new lad. "I want to settle down and do more work this term," he explains.
